How these numbers are made

Sources, definitions and the privacy rules behind every figure on PakTradeStats.

Source

Every figure comes from Pakistan Customs records for September 2026: goods declarations for imports (295,046 line items) and shipping bills for exports (188,257 line items).

Values

Values are customs-assessed values in Pakistani rupees. US dollar figures use the median rupee rate implied by US$-invoiced records in the same month: Rs 283.18 per US$ for imports and Rs 277.2 for exports. For imports, duties and taxes are the amounts actually paid after exemptions, and the effective rate is the total paid divided by the assessed value.

Privacy

We publish aggregates only. Importer and exporter names, NTNs, addresses, clearing agents, foreign buyers and suppliers, document numbers and item descriptions are never published. Any product, country or port figure built from fewer than 3 traders is withheld and folded into "Other".

Declaration types

Imports placed into a bonded warehouse (type IB) are excluded because they are counted when they leave bond (type EB). All other import types and all export shipping bills are included.

Differences from official statistics

The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics publishes trade figures on its own schedule and coverage rules. Totals here can differ because of declaration timing, temporary imports and bonded goods.
